  Quick Guide for Beginners
 
  Qualification
    1. Hold a minimum of Bachelor¡¯s degree from an accredited university.
    2. Be a citizen from the following countries;
         Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, UK and USA
    3. No teaching license/experience necessary
    4. No critical Criminal record
    5. No critical medical problems
   
  Duties
    1. To conduct English conversation classes for Korean students
      - How to pronounce English properly.
      - How to speak English properly.
      - How to read English properly.
      - How to write English Properly.
    2. To prepare teaching materials for the classes assigned
    3. To assist in developing teaching materials for English language education
    4.To assist with activities related to English language education and other extracurricular
       activities
   
  ¢Ñ Please note the proper training will be provided before performing the above duties.
   
  Working location
  You will live and work in one of major cities in Korea - you can choose a city that you would like to live.
  Just tell us where you would like to be (e.g. Rural area, urban area or I would like to live in a city like London,
  Santa Fe, Brisbane and etc¡¦.)
   
  Hiring season
  Jobs are available every month. Therefore, you can start working in Korea in any month. Just let us know
  when you can come to Korea.
   
  Job description
    1. Student type
      - Kindergarten to adults (depends on institute type)
      - Institute Type#1: teaching K-6
      - Institute Type#2: Teaching elementary or middle school students or both
      - Institute Type#3: Teaching adults
    2. Teaching Hours: 6 hours a day / 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday
    3. Office hours: Avg. 8 ~ 9 hours a day / 5 days per week
   
  Monthly Salary
    - 2.0 ~ 2.5 million Korean Won per month (Click to check the currency rate)
    - Low Income tax: approximately 3% monthly
   
  Benefits
    1. Completion Bonus
      - Amount equitant to one month's salary will be paid upon completion of contract
    2. Paid Accommodation
      - Housing provided (private studio) near school
    3. Airfare
      - Round trip airfare paid by the employer
    4. Medical Insurance
      - Approximately 1.9 % (and your employer pay another 1.9 % for you)
    5. Vacation
      - 10 paid vacation days
      - National holidays (Approximately 15 national holidays/year)

      - Approximately 4.8 % (and your employer pay another 4.8 % for you)
      - You will get this pension money back when you finish your contract
        (Applied to Americans and Canadians only)
    7. One year working visa sponsorship
   
  ¢Ñ When you finish your one year contract, you get about 120 % of your monthly salary from the
  Korean government. Therefore, when you finish your one year contract, you get the following
  things all together.
   
    1. Monthly salary
    2. Bonus upon (100% of your monthly salary)
    3. Pension (120 % of your monthly salary- For Americans and Canadians,)
      If you make 2 million KRW a month, then upon the completion of your one year employment contract,
      you will make little over 6 million KRW.

    Step #1 Apply by on-line or e-mail

   We will offer you a job that meet your expectation and qualification.
   And discuss in detail about the job we offer you.
   
    Step# 4 Review contact and have an interview
   Once you are ready to go on further about the job we offer to you, then we will send you the employment
   contract for you to review and set up an interview for the job. (the contact can be sent to you after the interview)
    If you are in Korea, then usually face to face interview will be conducted.
    If you are not, then phone interview will be conducted.
   
    Step #5 Make a decision
   After having an interview and reviewing the contract, both parties (employer and teacher) Make decision. Once
   both parties agreed to work together then you send us the documents needed for your visa
   
  Required documents for the application
    1. Copy of university Diploma with apostille .
    (Exception: for Canadians, it must be notarized by Korean consulate)
   
    2. NATIONAL level Criminal record check with Apostille
    (Exception: for Canadians, it must be       notarized by Korean consulate)
       For US citizens, an FBI check. For Canadian citizens, an RCMP check ONLY
   
    3. Copy of Passport (Passport must be valid for at least 6 months
    
    4. 2 Passport Photos
     - Please obtain 4 and send us 2 while holding onto the others.
   
    5. Self-medical check form (will be e-mailed to you)
   
    6. Signed employment contract (will be e-mailed to you once you accept the job offer)
   
   
   FAQ
    1. How much is the Salary?
   As an English Teacher in Korea, you can expect to earn about 2.0 ~ 2.9 million won per month. More may be
   offered depending on your qualifications
    2. How often do I get paid?
   You will be paid monthly according to the school's schedule. Usually the 9th or 10th of each month.
    3. Does my nationality matter?
   To qualify for a Visa in Korea working as a English Teacher (E-2 Visa) you must be a passport holder from
   the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa. This is a legal requirement from Korean
   Immigration and we have no way around it.
    4. Why does the website application require my photo?
   A photo of you is needed as the schools in Korea will not have the opportunity to meet with you in person
   before they hire you. A photo is a powerful tool and a good way to show off your professional demeanor.
    5. Do I have to pay for my airfare?
   The cost of your flight is fully covered in your contract! Usually it is paid in advance while public schools
   and some private institutes require you to pay your flight in advance and be reimbursed later. The bottom line
   is that the cost of your flight is fully covered in your contract!
    6. What is the housing like?
   For a single teacher, you will be provided a single studio apartment and for couples, 1 bedroom apartments
   are available. All apartments are modern and western styled. While your apartment will be small compared
   to the U.S., it will be clean and conveniently located to your school (usually 10 - 15 minute walking distance).
    7. Can I go for a shorter term (less than 1 year)?
   Unfortunately, all of our positions require that you make a 12 month commitment.
    8. Do I need a TESOL/TEFL certification?
   While being certified to teach English will help you find a position, it is not a requirement and we encourage
   people with or without certification to apply.
    9. Do I need to speak Korean?
   No, you will not need to speak any Korean to qualify for this position. Some teachers however do pick up
   books of tapes to learn some rudimentary Korean as this will enhance your social experience while there.
    10. I don't have a Bachelors degree, can I still go?
   No, The Bachelors degree is a requirement from the Korean Immigration Department

    12. When do the positions start?
   We have positions available year round and we will work with you to find a school and start date that meets
   your schedule.
    13. Will I have internet access in Korea?
   Korea is one of the most "wired" countries in the world. You can either have internet access in your apartment
   or use a Internet Cafe know as "PC Bang" which can be found everywhere throughout out Korea.
   14. Will it be expensive calling home?
   Technology has made calling overseas extremely cheap. Many teachers communicate to family and friends in
   the U.S. by using internet technologies like MSN, Yahoo, AOL, Skype. Cheap calling cards are also often used
   to communicate using phone.
    15. How much money should I bring?
   We recommend that teachers bring at least $500 to last them until their first paycheck which may be 1 month
   from their arrival.
    16. Do I need vaccinations?
   There are no required vaccinations to travel to Korea. However, you may want to visit other countries while in
   Korea, if this is the case, please consult with your doctor before you travel.
